Paola Villani
PG LF Subgroup Experimental Studies

Paola Villani is a Senior Scientist at ENEA, the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development, Rome, Italy. She holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the University "La Sapienza," Rome and has extensive experience in experimental activities in the field of radiobiology, environmental mutagenesis and genetic toxicology. Her research interests focus on DNA and chromosome damage due to environmental contaminants, radiation, and nano-materials, alongside evaluating the genotoxicity of chemicals. She contributed to developing the "ReProComet assay" for genetic testing, now included in the EURL ECVAM Database. Paola Villani was elected to the ICNIRP Collaboration Group in November 2024.
