Term 2024-2028

On 16 and 17 July 2024, the ICNIRP Commissioners 2020-2024 and 2024-2028 held respectively the last and first Commission meeting of their terms.

The meeting took place on the first day at the Environmental Research Station Schneefernerhaus (UFS), Germany’s highest research station at 2650 meters. The Commission visited the Research Station, and in particular the UV measurements installations, and then convened for the Annual General Meeting 2024. On the next day the meeting was hosted at the Neuherberg premises of the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) where the Commission reported and wraped up current scientific business and discussed future tasks.
 
On this occasion, Dr Rodney Croft (Chair), Dr Eric Van Rongen (Vice-Chair) and the longstanding Scientififc Secretary, Dr Gunde Ziegelberger passed on the baton to the new Board comprised of Dr Akimasa Hirata (Chair), Dr Ken Karipidis (Vice-Chair) and Dr Dan Baaken (Scientific Secretary), who in turn thanked them for their outstanding achievements in contributions to NIR protection and the ICNIRP mission. Thanks again also to the departing members (2020-2024) Dr Carmela Marino and Dr Soichi Watanabe (12 years) and Dr Guglielmo d’Inzeo, Dr Sharon Miller and Dr Martin Röösli (8 years) for their expertise, work and commitment.

Welcome to the Commission 2024-2028, which is comprised of Dr Akimasa Hirata (Chair), Dr Ken Karipidis (Vice Chair), Dr Young Hwan Ahn, Dr Nigel Cridland, Dr Frank de Vocht, Dr Anke Huss, Dr Ilko Ilev, Dr Jens Kuhne, Dr Ilkka Laakso, Dr Isabelle Lagroye, Dr Alberto Modenese and Dr Gunnhild Oftedal!
