Kanako Wake received her PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2000 from the Tokyo Metropolitan University and is currently a Research Manager of the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Japan. She is engaged in research on human safety related to electromagnetic exposure. Her scientific major includes dosimetry using voxel human models and human phantoms, development of compliance techniques of applications for international standards and contribution to medical and biological studies on health effects of human exposure to non-ionizing radiation. She is a member of the Bioelectromagnetic society (BEMS) and serve as associate editor of BEMS since 2018. She is also a member of the Committee to Promote Research on the Possible Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields, the Ministry of Internal affairs and Communications (MIC), Japan.
